Young Filmmakers’ Camp - coming again next summer..... Please call 503 347 9932 with any questions.

Students ages 9 and up will learn about video and film production from various perspectives. Summer camps will run daily for five days.  Each camp will explore a range of industry techniques . Campers will script, storyboard, shoot, edit, and compose a score for a short film, along with breakout sessions in simple animation and other subjects.  Along with learning these techniques, students will walk away with a DVD of the project that they completed during the week, plus a documentary of their experience. From Narrative Filmmaking to Documenting a Rocket Launch and experimenting with green screen, students will find out how real movies are made with the help of Instructors Greg and Amy.

Amy Taylor, co-owner of Burnit Studio and an editor of 20 years experience, has given TV courses throughout the Americas and Europe as a representative for Tektronix and other manufacturers.

Greg Winterrowd, a recent film school graduate, currently employed by the Tigard-Tualatin school district, has been working with video since early on in middle school.  His fascination with visual media, plus his excellent rapport with kids, makes a perfect match of this program.  If your child attends Mary Woodward, ask them if they know Mr. W!

Your student will enjoy this course and may find the inspiration for a career!
